Summer's here

Summer's here

Scorching hot all over the country, delightfully warm in the Osseghem Park. The invigorating shadow of the park formed the perfect backdrop for the stunning Vaches Sacrées, Gnawas, Bankra Bikes and Unicum Brassband. Later in the evening the park got lit by hundreds of flames and lights.

Many new things at #CoulCaf19 and all of them much appreciated; crazy parties at the Black Stage, exotic dancing at the Casa Bacardi, shaking at the Dub Forest and relaxing at the New Secret Place.

Oh and we had some concerts as well. Salif Keita played his sixth home game and won the crowd over with great ease. Kamasi Washington proved why he is the biggest name in contemporary jazz music and Tamino got a visit on stage by Radiohead legend Colin Greenwood. Niveau4 XXL was also an absolute banger: Belgium is bursting with young rap talent and adding jazz bands to the sum turned out to be a well-considered choice. More rap & RnB highlights with the European premiere of Joyner Lucas and the TS5 project by Craig David. Finally, praise is due to forest ranger/techno legend Dominik Eulberg, Dutch fury Rachel Green and South-African wizzards BCUC who all smashed their dance floors into smithereens. Countless other artists undoubtedly deserve the same amount of praise, but we have to get ready for today.

We can't wait to welcome you back for the third part of this sun-drenched triptych with Tiken Jah Fakoly, Sampa The Great, Amparanoia, Rejjie Snow, Protoje, Kabola, KOKOKO!, Goran Bregovic and of course Ms. Lauryn Hill!
